Borns family papers, 1896-1959.

Papers and photographs of a Milwaukee (Wis.) family (bulk 1950s) documenting Ed and Margaret Borns, their daughter, Barbara, and Margaret's father, Ignatius Mercurio. Ignatius Mercurio was a typewriter sales and service provider and his papers include a travel journal entitled "My Trip Abroad," describing a trip he made with his family to Europe and two photographs of himself and his wife, Pearl. Ed and Margaret (Mercurio) Borns were active members of the Knights of Pythias, Prospect Lodge no. 135, and the affiliated Pythian Sisters, Althea Temple no. 32, and their materials include election materials and posts held within the Pythian order as well as photographs of its members. Also included are papers and photographs documenting Ed's 40-plus years with the Milwaukee Gas Light Company including clippings and photographs and the cover of the November 1950 issue of "Gas News" depicting Barbara at a turkey farm.
